AI Visibility Score, Explained

One number, five pillars, 100 points. Here's exactly what the score measures, what counts as good, and which fixes move each pillar — so you know what to do first.

The five pillars

The checker scores five pillars, weighted by how much they actually gate AI answers:

Most sites land between 40 and 70 on first check — and most of the missing points are the two ten-minute fixes above. Run your URL through the checker, fix what's red, re-check. Score context for your industry: accountants, law firms, ecommerce, SaaS.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good AI visibility score?
85+ is AI-ready — crawlers allowed, structure machine-readable, passages quotable. 70–84 is competitive. Below 50 means at least one hard block makes you invisible to AI answers regardless of content quality.
Why is crawler access weighted so heavily?
It's binary: a blocked GPTBot or PerplexityBot removes your site from that engine's corpus entirely — nothing else on the page matters. It's also the most common accidental failure, inherited from copied robots.txt files.
How often should I re-check?
After every significant deploy — robots.txt regressions and schema loss are common and silent — and monthly at minimum. The check is free and takes seconds.
